About Us
The Central Texas Orff Chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association aims to support the many and diversified efforts of persons, be they new to the profession or veteran, and institutions whose educational interests focus on the approach developed by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman. We understand that not all children learn the same; therefore, through collaboration within our Orff community, as well as with other communities, we strive to find the best way to enable each child to succeed.
Central Texas Orff demonstrates the value of Orff Schulwerk and promotes its widespread use; supports the professional development of music educators; and, inspires and advocates for the creative potential of all learners.
Central Texas Orff provides quality professional development opportunities to area music teachers as well as provides scholarships for summer training courses.

An important message from our CTO Board
June 9, 2020
At Central Texas Orff, we value the diverse community in which we reside and serve. Therefore, we cannot be silent concerning the recent events that have taken place in our nation. CTO is proud to uphold the statement published by AOSA earlier last week.
“[CTO] denounces injustices imposed on any communities of color;’ and, particularly, we condemn the violence against Black communities in our country. We affirm our commitment to supporting who we serve which includes Black teachers, Black students, and Black families. We believe Black Lives Matter.
[CTO] condemns the systemic racial inequities of our country as we evolve in our awareness of who [CTO] is and what that represents. [CTO] calls on membership to support all the students they teach along with their families and their communities, inside and outside the music classroom.”
Central Texas Orff will continue to reflect and grow in our practices to empower and educate the community that we serve, while also eradicating any injustices held within our organization.
